WHO WE ARE
Saving lives day by day and dog by dog. We are a new rescue with a 501C3, trying to make a difference in the lives of dogs in need.
Mama Dog Rescue cares for all the dogs (and some cats!) who need protection, a mama's love, and a comfortable and happy forever home. If you adopt one of Mama Dog's babies, you know your dog has been seen by a veterinarian. Each dog is fully vetted, which means up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, heart worm tested, fecal tested, and microchipped--with Mama Dog paying for the lifetime activation fee. We keep in touch with each of our babies for life, making sure that every adoption is happy and fulfilling for both dog and owner. And each rescue comes with a special Mama Dog Rescue dog tag!
Dog(s) of the week
We saved six dogs from a Monroe County hoarding situation. Mama Dog Rescue has Penelope, Bindi, Steve, Gideon, Magnolia, and Gizelle. My heart was absolutely shattered trying to choose who to take into our small rescue. When the Monroe County Animal Control officers were bringing the second group in, some fought so hard out of fear...It took three days until I was able to hold Bindi and Steve. When I was holding Bindi, Gizelle came up to me and sat in a bed next to me and allowed me to pet her. Penelope was sniffing my legs and I was able to touch her a few times. Magnolia allowed a few pets in. Gideon later allowed pets with Steve. Our vet bill is over $6,000, so if you'd like to donate, click on the button above. We will put these guys up for adoption when they are better socialized and feeling safe.
Cat of the week
Hi, I'm Butterscotch, and this is my best friend, Cannoli. Aren't we just darling?? We are not ready for adoption yet, but the rescue is taking in applications on us because once we get all those shots (Ooohhh, those needles make me put my little paws over my eyes! Pokes are no fun!) and we are old enough to go to our forever home, we will. The rescue is setting up appointments for us to be fixed.
We are just as sweet as can be, we met in foster care and are now very bonded and need to be adopted together. We are always with each other; from the day we met, we were playing and sleeping with each other.
